The Devoted Friend.

The Devoted Friend by Oscar Wilde, this is fairy-tale which is attracting their story about good friends and sadless the end.... Character in the story was: Water-rat, linnet and duck.

The linnet begining to tell water-rat a story about two best friends, that is little Hans and big Hugh the Miller. Little Hans was honest, generous and very devoted friend of big Hugh Miller. The Miller was rich, and not so devoted friend like little Hans. The Miller used to say to Hans about the unselfishness of true friendship and they should have everything in common. Little Hans did and gave Miller everything, what he want’s, but Miller was not good devoted friend and didn’t gave Hans something who asked him. What Miller gave Hans it was  wheelbarrow and every time when Miller something want of Hans he reminded that he gave a wheelbarrow which is worth.  In the end story little Hans was drowned and his body was found in great pool of water….

2.       What does the author (Oscar Wilde) wants to tell the reader (what is the moral of the story)? Why?

Answer:

1.The mother Duck teach the ducks about their society. But little ducks paid no attention to mother Duck, cause they don’t listen her.

2.Author wants to tell about love and friendship, devoted friend.  In story there`s two friends sides: one is devoted and another not.  For example, Hans dies of Miller`s guilt. So if you have always use someone-you will regret it for that.

3.The animal discussing in the end of the story about moral and Linnet saying. The Linnet have discussing with water-rat about moral where water-rat don`t  see. Water-rat was very angry manner and Linnet were afraid that don`t see moral of the story.

4.That is very good fairy-tale. I liked and surprised story end, which I haven`t  expected.
